A useful and fashionable retro clock screensaver

This flip-clock screensaver comes courtesy of Yuji Adachi, a Japanese developer who as well creates and publishes other complimentary goodies besides screensavers, such as fonts, apps, icon sets and desktop wallpapers. The Fliqlo screensaver, however, appears to be one of his most popular projects, and it'due south still actively developed. An iOS app version of the screensaver for iPhone and iPad was recently released, and is now available in the App Store for $0.99.
The premise of this screensaver is simple: it turns your screen into an old-fashioned flip-clock that looks much like the electromechanical alarm clocks invented in the mid-twentieth century. These clocks quickly grew in popularity due to their elementary but elegant design, displaying the time in large white numerals against a blackness groundwork. The fun and beauty of this screensaver is that information technology can finer turn any Windows or Mac OS 10 computer into such an elegant and useful clock. The bigger the screen, the bigger the clock.
Some options available to this screensaver, that the original flip clocks did not possess, include the ability to switch between a 12 and a 24-hr format. Furthermore, the size of the clock can be adapted on a calibration of 25% to 125%. These settings tin can be reset at whatever time.

looks dissimilar compared to the older version. is it only me or others had the same problem equally well? I'g using Windows eight though. the number font seemed non to fit into the flip clock.

Sigh, wait for update for the windows version (v1.4)...doesn't exit on mouse motility, have to press any key just to get information technology to close. Graphics are off, non every bit clean as the original. Different font being used. Numbers displayed on a scaled desktop do not heart properly, and the far right numbers are clipped. At least information technology is no longer dependent on flash being installed. Still no seconds option subsequently all these years.

The new version (1.4) requires you to completely uninstall the previous version before installing the new version. I just did it and it works fine now. The simply thing that looks off, at least on the windows version, is the size looks larger, more zoomed in. Not as make clean looking imho

Only two-screens brandish the clock. The 3rd screen doesn't have a clock and just displays a bare screen. The clock is static so potentially become a screen burner. I rather one clock display that can be configured to brandish ane screen at a time (shifting from one blank screen to another instead of display on 2 screens and bare on another). The frequency shifting from i screen to some other can be configurable (brand these an option). For a single display, maybe have the choice to scroll then it doesn't stay dead heart everytime? The clock looks very nice otherwise.

Love the design and retro expect, but it doesn't support multi-monitors well. I accept a Surface Book connected to two 24" LCD monitors. Desktop is extended, not mirrored. The clock shows up fine on the Surface Book screen, simply not the LCD monitors. Would be overnice to have an option to merely bear witness on principal screen.

Crawly throwback wait! I have noticed that in my Windows x Surface the screensaver goes black and it locks my organisation. I've had to restart manually a few times. Finally I stopped using information technology. Any word on why?

Be very conscientious using this screensaver for extended periods of time without alter. Because it'southward very high dissimilarity and the clock face up is completely static, you tin can suffer a burn in (which I did). I'm in the process of fixing it with a wallpaper created in pure white. I take a pocket-sized sliver left in the repair. I've had this white wallpaper displayed at present for 7 days in the repair fashion. Be smart, LCD's can suffer burn in.

Beware, this screensaver nught look innocent, simply it remotely tries to connect with some ip unknown to me. E'er recollect to cake this screensaver from accessing internet ^^ while the screensaver is fine & dandy, i dont understand the motive backside 'requiring net connection', be very conscientious what you cull to allow in your pc.

When I downloaded the screensaver, it was a dissimilar font than the pictures displayed. I checked with my sister, because she has the clock I wanted and it was the exact same download (aforementioned numbers and yr), but mine is not block letters.

Simple and nice looking screen saver. Running on a few Windows 10 computers.
A business concern that I have is ... I copied the 314-Fliqlo Setup.exe (Windows) file to my Google Drive for safe keeping. When I try to download that file from my Google bulldoze to whatsoever other computer, Google blocks the download and states that a virus was detected.
Screensavers Planet: Thanks for reporting that! I suspect they use ClamAV, among other programs, to scan files for viruses, and ClamAV raises a flag for the file. I take submitted a false positive report to ClamAV and expect the file to exist cleared soon.

Installed the screensaver on my Win-Vista system today, honey the retro await. Works well as is only when I enter "settings" for screensaver it brings up a flash window which allows me to brand changes (24hr, 125%) only does not relieve them when I exit. It shows a "reset" button simply no "save" push button, then I'grand assuming information technology is supposed to be automatic upon closing. Whatever suggestions?

I actually like information technology. It's non vivid or over complicated. I use it on my laptop that sits on my nighttime stand. It's nice for me, considering I clothing spectacles.. So when I am sleeping. I can just look over, without fumbling for my glasses or trying to find my phone, and know what time it is.
My BIGGEST petpeeve with this. I use 24 hour time. I am always waking upward at different times, so information technology's MUCH easier for me to glance over, await at the clock. Cool. 900.. It's 9am... 2100.. cool. It's 9pm.. This thing has a habit of RANDOMLY switching BACK to 12 hour fourth dimension COMPLETELY ON It'S OWN. I saw information technology on a shabby to sheek decor site offon the designers estimator in a small infinite renovation...LOVED @ first sight.... Skilful to be a kid in simplier times and even meliorate to be a big kid and combine the two! Cheers for this dandy functional screen saver!

I have the new MacBook Pro with Retina running on macOS Sierra 10.12.1 and this isn't working. Any suggestions I tried the right clicking method and opening it through at that place and saving it onto my desktop.
Screensavers Planet: First open the .dmg file you downloaded to bring up a window where three files will be shown. Right-click the "Fliqlo.saver" file, cull "Open up", then click "OK". Failing that, please post to the message board for support.

Had information technology for well-nigh 6 months on my Mac that was running OS Ten Yosemite and it worked wonderfully. Recently updated to OS Ten EI Captain and information technology said information technology doesn't run on this software.. Had to reinstall and information technology works perfectly again. Never had a problem with this screensaver and looks lovely. 10/10

I practice honey this screen saver, and have been using it for ages, even so I recently got another monitor, so that I can have 2 screens when working. When I employ just my monitor with the laptop closed, then this screen saver works fine, however when I use both screens, information technology is off centre and too large on my extra monitor. Some sort of settings that could be inverse for multiple monitors would make this screensaver even more awesome :)

I can't make it apear on my screen saver because information technology says I can only use them if they are downloaded in app shop
Screensavers Planet: Right-click the Fliqlo.saver file and choose "Open". You lot should so be able to click "Open" again to install the screensaver.

i went into display settings and found fliqlo in that location. information technology was extremely piece of cake to adjust the timeout period as with whatever other screensaver. so 5 stars. dig information technology. a LOT.

There was a security update to Internet Explorer Flash Histrion today. I uninstalled the update and at present Fliqlo is working once again.

I've been using this screensaver for year (on Windows), and similar others have said, today it randomly stopped working and just shows a white screen. Tried restart and uninstall/reinstall with no luck. I loved it until it stopped working today.

Cheque your installed programs. Information technology looks similar Adobe downloaded a flash player update today. That must exist what killed whatsoever screensaver using flash.

I've had this screen saver for years and absolutely loved it. I wake up this morn to detect that the screen saver doesn't show a clock anymore...only a white blank screen. I restarted the figurer and information technology didn't help. Uninstalled fliqlo and reinstalled and no luck. Even downloaded the newest version and it still simply shows a white screen. Not happy right now.

Screensavers Planet: This download should back up Mac OS X 10.viii and newer. If you have an older version of the operating arrangement, delight try searching for an older version of the screensaver, east.one thousand. Fliqlo i.four, i.three, and and so on until you lot find 1 that works.

Very elementary and useful. I love it.
One affair... Information technology is a bit too bright at dark for me. It would exist nice if it had brightness control. I conform the size to small to brand it less bright.
